About Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank

Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) is a state-owned development finance institution established under the Companies Act, 2002 and licensed under the provision of the Banking and Financial Institution Act No 5 of 2006 and the Banking and Financial Institutions (Development Finance) Regulations, 2012 to provide short, medium, and long-term affordable credit facilities for achieving inclusive agriculture sector development in Tanzania.

Thematic Priorities (Impact Areas)

  1. Catalyzing Finance to Agriculture – Play a leading role  as an apex agricultural development bank and catalyze banks and financial institutions to increase financing to agriculture.
  2. Value Chain Development – (i)Facilitate investment in productive infrastructure, mechanization, facilities of crop storage, processing, logistics, commodity trade and (ii) promote commercialization of small scale farmers.
  3. Climate Change and Climate Smart Agriculture – Enhance the capabilities of small-scale farmers, farmers cooperatives SME's  and other actors to respond to challenges of climate change.
  4. Financial Inclusion – Enhance access to finance, productive assets and markets for women and youth in agriculture and agribusiness.
  5. Capacity to Deliver – (i) Leverage partnerships and mobilize financial resources for agricultural financing; and (ii)Enhance TADB's capacity to deliver by expanding service outreach, investing in people and systems, enhancing governance, compliance and risk management.
