TADB has injected a total of 26 billion shillings into the dairy value chain through the TI3P project

This was said by Mr Damas Damian, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager of the Tanzania Inclusive Processor – Producer Partnerships in Dairy (TI3P) Project, when giving an assessment of the project’s implementation for the years 2022 to 2024 at the Dairy sector stakeholders conference held in Mwanza on May 30, 2024.

Mr. Damas Damian stated that the capital injected into the dairy sector is intended to boost productivity in the dairy value chain by; increasing the income of smallholder dairy farmers, promoting a formal collection of milk, supporting milk processing businesses and developing the market for milk and milk products.

Mr. Damas explained other implementation steps of the project, as follows;

✅ The project has reached 69,062 beneficiaries, 30% of whom are women.

✅ A total of 1,748 dairy cows have been loaned

✅ A total grant of 738 million shillings has been given to 846 livestock keepers.

✅ The project has benefited 45 cooperatives unions and Livestock keepers groups.

✅ The project works with six (6) dairy processors, resulting in an average increase of 17% in milk processing.

✅ TADB is in the final stages of implementing a plan to construct 15 milk collection centres through the TI3P Project.

The TI3P project is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and is implemented by TADB in partnership with Land O’Lakes Venture 37 and Heifer International.
